Whatelse: my wife is still in Paris for a large interior decoration trade show; I bumped in to Marcel, whom I had not seen for ages (currently writing for VARA guide, amongst others), my son likes shrimp croquets (which I enjoyed in combination with a glass of Chardonnay from Michel Lacroche), he was spotted by one of our neighbours, whom I had never met before and he played and played and played (did not really want to go home)

Wine: 2003, Bourgonges Cotes Hautes de Beaune, Poulet pere et fils (light, very light)
Where: restaurant Bloemsem, Amsterdam

Whatelse: deep, touching, exciting (and very friendly but sloppy service, with a false length claim), with a very, very nice Pouilly Fume (2003, Earl domaine Herve Seguin, Le Bouchot) definitely worth stocking up, accompanied by an insteresting starter (tomato coulis, grilled snapper and "venkel"), followed by a lovely cod soup, with a tad too much of maizena. Sadly the desert was not good at all (efforts made to compensate didn't really pan out); thanks to compamy a wonderful dinner.

Whatelse: preceded by a lovely miso-soup, a pleasant little salad and some unconvincing chicken sate; the sushi, in this quiet little restaurant outside the citycenter, fishwise was ok (certainly considering how landlocked Switzerland is and how distant the sea), but ricewise not

What: fegato a la Veneziana (liver of veal with broccoli, red coal and a slice of polenta pie (I think) - wonderful!!!
Wine: 2000, Granato, Foradori (exquisite)

Whatelse: two beautiful preceding dishes: torre de zucha (pumpkin soup with coquilles) and toretelloni a la stoccafisso (large ravioli with "stokvis"), and good company, very much worth getting to know better
