What: crepe from Venison, with potato-leek strudel and Brussels sprouts
Wine: 2003, Blaufrankisch, Winery Josef Leberl, Austria (for an Austrian red, excellent and an eye opener)
Where: city town hall, Vienna, Austria
With whom: > 670 ECCA delegates, shared the table with amongst others Greg, Jeroen, Nimrod (+wife and daughter)
Whatelse: main course was preceded by goose-liver "Kletzen"-bread with brioche and cranberries (accompanied by a 2004 Sauvignon Blanc from the winery Zahel) and a parsnip soup with stuffed dumplings (the best course of this meal, accompanied by a 2004 Chardonnay from the winery Fritsch in Austria as well). Desert consisted of a white mousse of coffee, sweet curd dumplings and mini sacher torte with fruit sauce and minted whiopped cream. A very Viennese night in the magnificent townhall, sponsored by UPC Austria and including entertainment of the Austrian kind, with jodling, walzing, Sissy, a Falco-imitator and, the odd one out, tapdancing. In all, it was a very nice evening topped off with huge cuban cigars, wonderful Caiprina's and some serious philisophical discussions.
